Summer 2026 Family Bike Ride

Meet in front of: Belmont High School Belmont
Join us for the 6th Annual Summer Family Bike Ride! Featuring community, a safe curated ride, playground, water play, ice cream, crafts stations, face painting, nail painting, bubbles, and the Family Bike Ride collection of outdoor play equipment.
Parents must accompany children at all times.

There is no fee to register, event is open to public, donations are encouraged to support Family Bike Ride operations. We are a parent organized group and this event costs money to produce. We receive some support from sponsors but rely on participant financial support as well.
Featuring honorary marshals: Belmont Select Board Members Taylor Yates and Matt Taylor, Cambridge City Councilors Burhan Azeem and Marc McGovern, State Rep David Rogers, State Rep Steve Owens, State Senator Will Brownsberger.
Schedule:
9:30AM Gather in front of Belmont High School. There will be no portable restroom for our brief time at the start location, so make sure to take care of business before leaving home.
09:50AM Remarks
10:00AM The ride is a safe 4.1 mile tour of bike infrastructure of Belmont and Cambridge, with some safety interventions here and there to address gaps in the network, and crossing guards or police at all intersections.
Please ride slow, yield to pedestrians, stay to the right, give space to other riders, pass on the left. Parents please coach your kids in these rules.
10:30AM to 12:30 whenever play at Cambridge Common playground which includes a water feature (bring water clothes) and with our own play equipment. Plus face painting, nail painting crafts activities, bubbles. The city has a portable restroom stationed at this park.
11AMish eat ice cream (we will have non dairy option/allergen/food sensitivity options)
There is no group ride back, families depart on their own.
