Bring your kid bikes, grown up bikes, cargo bikes, bike trailers, tandem bikes, bikes with kid seats, etc for our 2nd annual Halloween Family Bike Ride.   A chance to meetup with other families in the area who love to bike.   Costumes encouraged!

Rough schedule, subject to change:

9:30AM-10:15AM Our event starts with bike to bike trick or treating at gathering time.   Bring a bag of candy to hand out, stand next to your bike.   Kids should bring an empty bag/container to collect candy and go bike to bike trick or treating.    Don't arrive too late so you don't miss out on this fun time.

10:15AM-10:25AM Costume fashion show and remarks

10:25AM-10:50AM The ride is a safe ride along the Cambridge and Boston sides of the Charles River, taking place on a closed to auto traffic Memorial Drive, crossing the John Weeks Bridge into Boston, then taking the Dudley White Bike Path to Eliot Bridge where we will cross back into Cambridge to return to Sekler Playlot.   For this route, there are only 2 auto crossings at JFK Bridge on Cambridge and Boston sides which will be handled by police.     Please ride slow, yield to pedestrians, stay to the right and for the narrow Boston portion, ride single file.    Parents please coach your kids in these rules.

10:50AM-12:30PM Play back at the start location.   Featuring outdoor play equipment to supplement what Sekler Playlot has and a bike obstacle course.

Please contact us to volunteer to help with this event.

This event brought to you in coordination with Cambridge Bicycle Safety.

We will have limited quantities of extra bags for collecting candy and bags of candy for handing out, we don't want cost to be an issue or for any family to be left out if they forget.
